Inside the 2010 Grammys

The Grammys are by far one of my favorite events to attend. And that's because it's all about 2 of my favorite things...over-the-top fashion and music. And last night proved to be quite a memorable Grammy experience.

This was my 3rd year working the red carpet, this time for E! Entertainment. It was my job to produce a make over segment where 3 teams of celebrity stylists transformed normal women into Grammy nominated performers Rihanna, Katy Perry, and Lady Gaga. And boy were these ladies surprised! I have to admit I told a tiny white lie to get them there. Razieh, Shauna, and Casey all thought they were coming to the red carpet show to be audience members and witness the crazy behind-the-scenes of E!'s red carpet coverage. Little did they know, my amazing team of wardrobe, make-up artists, and hair stylists had been plotting & planning their transformations for a week.

After waking up at 6am and getting myself red carpet ready, I rushed to the Staples Center to meet my makeover victims and make sure they were kept in an area where our secret wouldn't be blown. After planting the girls in the bleachers and walking through everything with the camera crew, it was time to have Jay Manuel give them the news. Lucky for me, all of them were game and after a few hours of weaving, cutting, face-painting, and wardrobe fittings--we escorted our very own Rihanna, Katy, and Gaga to the red carpet to see their new look for the first time in front of millions of people.

Our Lady Gaga, especially, was a red carpet sensation and fooled everyone who saw her including the screaming Gaga fans.

Between a killer make-over segment and getting to see some of my favorite artists on the red carpet, I'd have to say the day was a success. The entire E! Live Events team capped it off with drinks at The Yard House to toast a Grammy show well-done.
